EMPIRE THEATRE

Brief

The Liverpool Empire Theatre is the UK’s largest two tiered theatre and has hosted variety of shows for people of all ages since first opening in 1896. Despite its popularity and being a landmark in the heart of Liverpool, the Liverpool Empire Theatre is in need of a re-brand. The current branding does not have a distinctive look or get across what the theatre is all about. There is no advertising for the Liverpool Empire as a theatre and it is looking a little run down.

The re-brand needs to bring life back into the Liverpool Empire Theatre, showing the variety of shows it has to offer. It needs a modern look that can move across all forms of media and appeal to people of all ages and interests. It will be renamed ‘The Empire’ and the re-brand needs to promote the theatre and encourage people to see the shows it has to offer.

Solution

The rebrand uses a three rectangular box device in the form of an E for the word ‘Empire’. This is used to show different imagery of people/characters from different shows that are held at The Empire. This device allows the use of many images that can change , therefore showing the variety of shows. It can be used over many forms of media whether it be print or digital.
